I am the proud owner of a new used server! I purchased a Dell PowerEdge T300 today and began setting it up. I didn’t get far, but I did make some progress.
I’m trying to migrate my Debian linux server into it without too much hassle, but that isn’t going so good. I managed to clone the boot partition from the old server and get it into the new server, but its having issues booting 🙁 I’m afraid I’m going to have to re-install Debian and rebuild from scratch. I was hoping NOT to have to do this, as I’ve modified a lot of crap on the old server, and I’m horrible at taking notes or remembering all the details of what I’ve done.
But on the other hand, this will allow me to upgrade from Debian 8 to Debian 9, which came out back in June. I’m probably better off starting from scratch anyways. I just need to remember to make a backup of the old boot partition, JUST in case I ever need it again. Alot of work went into it, and I want to keep a backup just to be safe, you know?
I’ll try to post a picture of my setup tomorrow, but I need to get to bed.
