I started scanning Town Criers from 1970 after work today (FINALLY).  Only been putting it off for several months now…  Taking a break now to make some dinner.  Pasta salad it is….

Volume 8 (1969) is done!  I didn’t realize how close I was, as there was a large chunk missing at the end of the year.

Everyone ready to buckle in for some Math?  Good!

I’ve decided to set a schedule for myself.  I’m going to set a goal of scanning 25 Town Criers in a week. This works out to 5 a day, which is about an hour, hour and a half of scanning (depending on how many pages each issue turns out to be)  This way I can get 50 done in two weeks, which works out to one year in two weeks.  So I can finish a box in about a month, as there have repeatedly been two years in a box

Everyone still with me?  haha.  I think this setup will help me keep working on this so I don’t fall behind.  I started this project, I don’t wanna stop or it’ll never get finished.

Hoping to finish up the box I have this weekend, so I can get another.  Look for some to be posted on Sunday if I get my act together

Scanned in 10 more Town Criers today.  Puts me a day ahead of my quota  5 a day, 5 days a week.  Its going pretty good.  I can easily get 10 done in a day.  Really think it might be time to up my self-imposed quota.   We’ll revisit the thought next week.

I’ve redone my scanning procedure, taking into account the multiple suggestions I got from everyone.  I also played around (a lot) with the settings in Adobe Acrobat. This next batch will be MUCH better!  I tested some different settings, and the background is actually looking much better now.  Not so much bleed through from the pages behind.  I’m pretty excited!   Can’t wait to show this new batch off.
