I’ve got a base install of the new forums installed.  Don’t bother trying to check it out or make an account, its all locked down for now.  Still got alot of work to do.

I moved the old forums to try and preserve them, maybe get some content out of them, but I guess they were in worse shape than we thought.  I moved them to a different location, and they broke entirely.  I can’t seem to get them to do anything now, and honestly I don’t think its worth it. We’re going to start completely fresh.

Huzzah!  I have managed to invent a method to use the NEW forums for my TRC Admin Logins.  This is very important, as I don’t want to operate a separate login system.  Downside is I need to recode a bit of stuff.  I can’t do it by username like I had before, I have to use the user ID number.  Blah.

Now I’m onto Stage #2.  Researching what I’ll need to do to continue having the photo album linked to the forums.  Again, multiple logins drive me nuts.  I like having everything the same.  I believe I can do it.  BUT, in this process, I realized the Photo Album is several versions behind, and could really use an upgrade.  Not sure how intense that will be yet, or if i’m going to bother.  The photo albums have been giving issues lately as well I hear.  I may just shut them down for a bit, and get to fixing it later, as I’ve done with the Forums

I’ve finally forced myself to sit down, and start working on the TRC Forums upgrade.  To start, I’m running some tests on a dummy install.  Wish me luck.  I’ll be keeping everyone updated here as we go.

I had a pretty lazy day.  I slept in good and late, and sat around and watched TV.  Mostly the Drew Carey show (as anyone can notice from my slew of tweets today).  I did accomplish taking out the trash and returning bottles, so the day wasn’t a compelte waste.  I got Derek’s laptop working again, and took that back over to him.  Its been a pretty lazy day, and I’m glad.  I needed one.

Does anyone out there still use AIM, Yahoo Messenger, or MSN?  I still log into them all the time, but I hardly ever talk to anyone on them anymore.  Everyone seems to use Facebook chat now, with an odd handful using Google Talk.  I’m debating scrapping AIM Yahoo and MSN.

Unless someone out there reads this, and responds!  Do you still use one of them?  If so, SPEAK UP!!!

I’m fed up with my phone.  I’ve decided to list out my reasons why.

• The volume up key doesn’t work
• The spacebar doesn’t work
• The keyboard backlight stopped working
• The backlight for the menu buttons stopped working
• The battery cover doesn’t latch properly anymore
• Sometimes when I receive a call, the phone locks up for no reason
• Sometimes when I answer a call, it never stops ringing

WTF.  Now that I’ve written this all out, the backlights have started working sporadically.  I’m ready to throw this thing in the ocean.

I’ve started window shopping for a new phone.  I’m due for a new one at the beginning of February, so its ALMOST time.  Problem is, the two that have caught my eye aren’t even out yet hahah.  Awhile back, I started looking at the Motorola Droid RAZR.  It was pretty shiny. Then they announced the new phones  The Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX looks very sexy.  Its just like the other Droid RAZR, but it has an ungodly battery life!  21 hours of straight talk time, like 138 hours of standby.  Thats unheard of!  BUT, its only a touch screen, has no real keyboard.  I like my real keyboard.

Thats why the other new phone caught my eye.  The Motorola Droid 4.  I have the Droid 1 haha.  Its got a real keyboard, and all the reviews say its the keyboard all other smartphone keyboards will aspire to be like.  I think that speaks highly of it.  And its  a dual core, fancy fancy shiny new phone.  I’m pretty sure the Droid 4 is what I want.  Now they just need to release it!!  Best I can find is February 2nd.  I hope my phone can make it till then….

I just read an article on the Bangor Daily News: Lack of interest kills bill to allow private prisons in Maine.  It has me kind of irritated.  You see, for the last few years, the Town of Milo has been talking about building a private prison in the empty business park in town.  The whole concept had its high and low points.  Thats not the basis of my rant here.

Governor LePage, in his campaign, promised Milo he would get us that prison built.  He was supposed to make sure the legislation and what-not passed.  Obviously, he hasn’t.  Can anyone give me one good example of something good he actually has accomplished??  Just goes to show that politicians never follow through on crap.  And LePage is the poster-boy for politicians.  When he first started running for office, every time I saw his picture all I could think of was a stereo-typical political cartoon of a corrupt politician.  That’s what he looks like!  Seriously.  I’m not the only one who sees this.

Anyways, I just think its ridiculous about the private prison.  That poor business park is never going to get anything built in it.

Finally got the WordPress app on my phone working again. Its been giving me touble for awhile now. Now I can’t sleep…

Mom got a call about upgrading our phones today. I gotta look into that. My phone is driving me nuts! I just want it to work right.

Ive been drooling over the Droid razr, but more practically looking at the Droid 3. Anyone got opinions?
